Curriculum Vitae

Overview: Michael Pangalos was born in 1970, in Athens. He studied Mathematics at the University of Athens and Philosophy at Paris et at Athens. He has written and supported his dissertation in 2003 at Paris (E.H.E.S.S) under the supervision of Vincent Descombes. From 2007 he has worked as professor of literature in the Secondary Public Education in Greece and, by the same years, he has taught Philosophy at the Hellenic Open University. He has, between others, translated in Greek the works by Charles Taylor, The malaise of modernity, et Les livres qui libèrent, Emmanuel Lévinas, Liberté et commandement, Myriam Revaut d’Allonnes, L’homme compassionnel et Pourquoi nous n’aimons pas la démocratie, Alasdair MacIntyre, After Virtue. He has also participated at many conferences et he has published texts on Wittgenstein, Levinas, Ricœur, Descombes Taylor, MacItyre and others philosophers et writers. From 2020, he has founded et leaded the philosophical and literaly review Anthropos.
